Nothing new

I feel like I should be updating this, since it's been months since my last update. Sadly, nothing new or exciting has happened. I'm still in school, still studying, and already sick of it. How about the future? I'm excited for Thanksgiving break, so I can finally go home after being here at school since August 3rd. I'm excited for Christmas too, which includes my birthday, Christmas, New Year's and hopefully a trip to California to visit friends. Also, Twilight the movie comes out in November, so that's always something to look forward too. Actually a few good movies are coming out, but I have no time for movies unless it's the night after an exam or a holiday break. How pitiful.

I know what I'm excited for! Picking my 3rd year rotation schedule. That's a huge deal. I'd like to be in MI, but if I can get some military rotations, then maybe I'll get to spend some time in California, Maryland or Virginia. That's going to be quite the experience of a lifetime. That's really a plus; a nervous plus, but a plus none the less. Ok, time to stop. I need to sleep. Friday is up next, and a whole weekend of studying for my Cardiovascular final exam. Sweet.

Whoa. I am officially a second year med student. Craziness. You would think that in celebration I would want to go out with my friends and drowned my fried brain with alcohol. Quite the opposite. I actually don't even like alcohol that much, and I have better things to do than get plastered anyway. I'm still getting over a little bit of a cold, so taking it easy will be nice. I think I'm just going to sit in bed with my diet Dr. Pepper and re-read the Twilight series. I technically don't have to leave my apartment except to hit the gym, so maybe I could just stay up and read the night away. Nerdy yes... even nerdier?.... I am stoked about it. Sorry, boring post, but just knowing that I don't have to study for a change has me pretty happy.

I really need to learn how to make icons. With the limited time that I have, and no photo editing software on my computer, I am quite confined to duplicating pictures and cropping them. How boring. It's quite sad that I drool at all the beautiful icons people seem to whip up all day. I should look into that. I should also look into studying, but that is far less interesting than devoting my time to fiddling with pictures. Oh well, soon enough I will have a hint of free time. Until then, I plan to continue browsing other people's creative talents.

I am definitely skilled at procrastinating. Once again I should be studying, but I'm not. Only, this time it's not organic chemistry, it's medical school. Neuroanatomy to be exact. What am I thinking? I'm thinking I can make up for it this weekend; well, let's hope so.

This definitely needs to be updated more frequently though. There's enough frustration in my life that warrants a journal. So, let's hope this is the beginning of some good old fashion venting, or maybe therapy. Either way, it can't go wrong, right?

I'm not really sure why I am even posting on here, because I hardly use LJ expect to check out fan sites..but that's ok. I need a break from studying because that is all I have been doing for the past 7 1/2 weeks. I am almost finished with organic chemistry and I am so glad. Taking two semesters of organic chemistry in ten weeks is not exactly my idea of a fun summer, but it has to get done and at least it's not 14 weeks or something.
Next week I start my indepentdent multi-step synthesis, which takes two weeks, and then I am done with lab! I usualy hate it, but Organic lab is actually a lot more interesting than regular Gen Chem. So anyway, I am synthesizing cis, endo-Dimethyl Bicyclo-[2,2,1]-heptane-2,3-dicarboxylate, which sounds a lot more confusing than it really is. It should go pretty well, considering my lab partner is pretty awesome... because if I was doing it I would want to clear everyone out of lab for their own safety.
I think it's a safe conclusion to make that all I talk about is organic chemistry...it's all I ever do these days! I can't wait until it's over and I've taken the MCAT, because then I can actually relax for a short period of time. And with that, I think I better get back to studying.
